Born in 1991 in Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire, Ben Clarke was working as a physical education teacher before discovering footgolf in 2014. He turned professional in 2017, and the results since have been hard to argue with.

World-Class Consistency

Clarke has been ranked among the top three players in the world since 2020, holding the world number one position during the COVID-affected 2020 and 2021 seasons, and is a four-time FootGolf World Tour champion. In 2023 he topped the European Tour rankings outright, winning four of nine events, including the French, Italian, Dutch and Slovenian Opens plus the Sharjah International. He followed that with a second-place global finish in 2024 (two wins, multiple podiums), and through 2025 had won six of nine events played, sitting third in the world.

International Honours

Clarke was runner-up individually, and with Team UK, at the 2018 FIFG FootGolf World Cup, and has represented the United Kingdom at both the European Championship and the Jansen Cup.

Still Topping the Home Tour

Clarke plays out of Gatwick FootGolf Club, and remains a fixture at the top of the England National Tour rankings today — you can see his current season standing live on our VYPR World England page, right alongside the rest of the tour's current leaderboard.
